May 7th-10th Highlights
Our mornings start with Bible.
It seems to be a good way to set the tone for our school day.
Over the weekend, we added a couple bookshelves. It was much needed storage for my teacher manuals and materials. I love that I now have somewhere to set my lesson planner!
In science, we learned about Earth and Space this week.
Our first project was a sundial.
We also made a constellation viewer.
It turned out really well! The kids enjoyed looking through the viewfinder to look at the constellations.
Our walks are so much fun now that everything is blooming!
The sights and smells are a true treat to the senses.
Continuing our study in health, we learned about the tongue and nose on Tuesday.
We did a taste test!
I blindfolded the kids and gave them droppers to taste coffee, lemon juice, salt water, soy sauce, and chocolate.
Not every flavor is pleasant.
We learned about the history of our flag.
We learned about flag etiquette.
We learned the proper way to fold and display the flag.
We really enjoyed this lesson.
Kyle was not a fan of the Planets song/ Solar System Song.
For P.E. one day, I had the kids run up and down the hill that we pass on our walk. They were giggling so much, I'm not sure how they were able to keep running!
In Ohio History, we learned about the Northwest Territory and made our own covered wagons.
It was another wonderful week!!
